PocketPilot setup

Install on iOS or Android

On iOS or iPadOS, use Safari's Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Chrome's menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

01

Install on your computer

Choose the Windows EXE or Mac DMG. On Windows, allow Firewall on Private networks only. On Mac, follow the permission steps below.

02

Pair on your device

Open the Same Wi-Fi address in Safari on iOS or iPadOS, or Chrome on Android, then enter the rotating six-digit code.

03

Install the web app

On iOS or iPadOS: Share → Add to Home Screen → Open as Web App. On Android: Chrome menu → Install app or Add to Home screen → confirm.

PocketPilot can start with Windows after sign-in and continue quietly in the notification area.

ANYWHERE / 02

Included with Premium

Connect over mobile data.

PocketPilot: AnywhereAvailable to every Premium user with PocketPilot 1.4.0 or later. Activate your Premium key, choose PocketPilot Anywhere in Overview, and enable internet connections. No approval from PocketPilot, registration file, or separate account is needed. Get setup help.

01

Choose Anywhere on the PC

Update to PocketPilot 1.4.0 or later and activate Premium in Settings. Choose PocketPilot Anywhere from the address dropdown in Overview, read the connection details, and enable it. PocketPilot verifies your Premium access automatically.

02

Scan and approve

Select Pair a phone or tablet, choose its controls, and create a QR code. Click to reveal it, then scan with your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Compare the fingerprints shown on both devices and approve the request on Windows.

03

Leave the PC ready

Keep PocketPilot running and the PC awake and online. Reopen remote.pocket-pilot.net in the same paired browser. You can use mobile data or a different Wi-Fi network; no VPN or open router port is needed.

Premium access renews automatically while the PC is online. A phone left disconnected beyond its 24-hour connection-token expiry needs a new QR code; its token renews while connected. Clearing browser storage also requires pairing again. Security and connection limits.

MAC SETUP

Apple Silicon · macOS 14 or later

Set up your Mac.

01

Keep one installed copy

Open the DMG, copy PocketPilot into Applications, then eject the disk image. Open that installed copy rather than running it from the DMG.

02

Review permissions

In PocketPilot Settings → Mac permissions, allow Screen Recording to share the picture and Accessibility for input. Click Automation's Request access for power controls; macOS decides whether a separate prompt is needed. Return to PocketPilot to see the updated status.

03

Pair your phone

Use Overview's local Wi-Fi QR code, or select PocketPilot Anywhere with Premium. Keep the Mac awake and online. If macOS asks for Local Network access, review and allow it for local pairing.

This direct download is not Developer ID signed or Apple-notarized. macOS may block its first launch. Follow Apple's app-opening guidance only if you trust this download. Never disable Gatekeeper; stop if macOS reports malware or a damaged app.

Intel Macs are not supported by this download. Exact media seeking and presentation-start controls differ from Windows. Frame rates depend on the Mac and connection; 30/60 FPS are targets, not guarantees.

GOOD TO KNOW / 06

Common questions.

Windows warns me+

Windows SmartScreen may warn when the direct installer is unsigned or its publisher has not built enough reputation. That warning alone is not a malware finding. Download PocketPilot only from the official Download section and compare the filename and SHA-256 shown there. If either differs, choose Don't run and delete the file. If both match and you trust this download, choose More info → Run anyway if Windows offers that option. Never disable Microsoft Defender or SmartScreen. If Defender names a specific threat, stop and contact support.

Is this from the App Store or Google Play?+

No. Local mode serves the remote from your PC; Anywhere opens the hosted controller at remote.pocket-pilot.net. Use Safari on iOS or iPadOS, or Chrome on Android. Local mode supports the browser's install or Add to Home Screen option. For Anywhere, reopen the same paired browser; another browser or a separate installed-web-app storage area may need a new pairing.

Can I use it from anywhere?+

Yes, with PocketPilot: Anywhere and a PC that stays awake and online. Available to every Premium user with PocketPilot 1.4.0 or later. Activate your Premium key, choose PocketPilot Anywhere in Overview, and enable internet connections. No approval from PocketPilot, registration file, or separate account is needed. Read the Anywhere setup guide. The free default stays on your trusted local Wi-Fi. Never expose port 8787 directly to the public internet.

Is Anywhere traffic unlimited?+

No monthly or per-session data-volume cap. Speed, message-rate, and simultaneous-connection limits still apply; your internet or mobile provider may charge for data. Up to two mobile devices can connect at once. Picture quality and frame-rate limits apply, and availability depends on both connections and the relay. Read the service terms.

How do I disconnect or forget an Anywhere device?+

Turn Anywhere off in Windows Settings to stop internet connections without deleting saved pairings. Use Windows → Devices to remove a device. Forget on a connected phone removes its Windows record before clearing the local pairing; if the PC cannot be reached, remove it from Windows instead. Access to your free local remote is separate.

Is it a full remote desktop?+

It is a visual control surface optimized for interaction: primary display, left-click, zoom, and pan. It does not relay PC audio or target smooth video and games. Premium keyboard input works only with ordinary focused text fields, not protected Windows surfaces.

Can it unlock Windows?+

No. PocketPilot cannot show or control the lock screen or UAC secure desktop, and it never asks for or stores your Windows password or PIN.

Will every app and video work?+

Supported Start-menu apps are deliberately filtered. Protected video may appear black, precise seeking depends on the player, and elevated apps may reject clicks or F11.

How does Premium checkout work?+

Premium currently costs €3.99 once. PayPal handles PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay when those wallets are available, while PocketPilot's server verifies the completed capture before revealing a lifetime license key. PocketPilot sends a private email copy when checkout supplies a usable address; otherwise, the verified buyer can enter one. Delivery is shown only after the email provider accepts it. The key binds to its first protected Windows installation.

What does “free” mean?+

PocketPilot's core remote remains free for your own personal, non-commercial use. Premium is an optional upgrade; security and reliability improvements are not Premium-only. PocketPilot's original code and design remain proprietary, and redistribution or commercial use requires permission.
